Carlisle Cathedral launched a new free digital guide on Saturday 25 July, featuring highlights, audio tours, a children’s trail and more. The free guide joins hundreds of cultural institutions around the globe on the Bloomberg Connects app.
Bloomberg Connects is a free arts and cultural app created by Bloomberg Philanthropies. Bloomberg Connects makes Carlisle Cathedral accessible for either on-site or off-site visits through photo and audio features offering insights – created by Cathedral volunteers, staff, clergy and work experience placement students – into the interesting and unique objects, fabric and history of Carlisle Cathedral.
The Venerable Michael Everitt, Interim Dean of Carlisle, said “We are delighted to join international heritage sites in launching our Bloomberg Connects guide. It is a dynamic, user-friendly way to enhance or prepare for a visit to the Cathedral (and then to discover other local attractions). I strongly encourage anyone who uses smartphones to download it and visit us fully informed.”
During the first few days following the launch, the Carlisle Cathedral guide has been viewed over 320 times and accessed in many different languages, including German, Italian, Dutch, French and Chinese.
