On Friday 1 December and Saturday 2 December 2023, the Quirky Eclectica Christmas Market will return to Carlisle Cathedral.
The Market will bring together over 30 small, local businesses from the surrounding area, who will be showcasing a huge range of hand crafted and locally made items including jewellery, home décor, Christmas decorations and gifts. The stalls will be displayed throughout the Fratry Hall, the Undercroft and outside in the Cloisters, offering a unique Christmas shopping experience in the heart of the Cathedral precinct and city.
On Friday 1 December, shoppers will be welcomed from 10.00am until 5.00pm, then as night falls a Sip & Shop event will take place from 5.00pm – 8.00pm, with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available to purchase from the Cathedral Café for shoppers to enjoy whilst they browse. The event will also run on Saturday 2 December from 10.00am – 4.00pm.
The Quirky Eclectica Market is organised by Tracey and Ashley, both of whom run businesses that will feature at the event – namely Manor Barn Organics and All Things Nice by Ashley. They said, “We are so delighted to have curated such a talented group of Cumbrian artisans and to be holding our two-day event at Carlisle Cathedral…what a beautiful location!”
The monthly Carlisle Farmers’ Market will also take place on Saturday 2 December, from 9.00am – 2.00pm, in front of the Cathedral’s magnificent East Window. The Farmers’ Market promotes local, artisan produce, sold by the producers themselves, who care with a passion that they are selling the best, fresh, quality food.
The Markets highlight the start of a varied and vibrant calendar of Advent and Christmas activities at Carlisle Cathedral. For more information, please visit www.carlislecathedral.org.uk or follow Carlisle Cathedral on Facebook, X, Instagram, and Linked In.
