It was wonderful to welcome Charlotte Spruit and Xiaowen Shang to the Fratry Hall last week for their concert as part of Carlisle Music Society’s programme of events.
Charlotte and Xiaowen were some of the first musicians to use the new green room facilities created within the Fratry, thanks to a grant from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
The developments have equipped the Carlisle Cathedral Fratry building with modern facilities and resources, which includes a refurbished area behind the Fratry Hall that provides a green room and changing space for performers and speakers, the installation of a high-quality audio system to support cultural engagement and the resource provision for high quality exhibition boards for use within publicly open spaces.
The improvements will offer an enhanced experience for visiting musicians, artists and speakers and we look forward to utilising this new equipment at future occasions and events. Our thanks go to the funders for making these developments possible.
The project has received £45,780.95 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025. The Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.
