On Thursday 12 December 2024, you are warmly invited to a presentation by our Tower Captain Ron East, presenting the history and the making of the bells.
A new peal of thirteen bells weighing 5¼ tons was hung in the tower at Carlisle Cathedral for the Millennium. This is the story of how they were made and hung in the tower to replace an older peal of eight bells and of the history of bell ringing at the Cathedral.
