We are delighted to say that the cathedral is open to individuals for peace and quiet and prayer from 11:30am to 2:00pm each day, where you will find candles to light , space to reflect and literature to comfort. Whether you are of this faith, another faith or no faith at all, we would be delighted if you chose our building as an oasis in a noisy world. Weekday Daily service at 12:30pm.
“Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.”
Entry to the Cathedral is free…
But, we rely on the financial support of our visitors and congregations. Please support us if you can; we suggest a donation of £3 per visitor, but please give what you are able to. All donations are used to maintain this magnificent building and our ministry and to keep our doors open for this generation and those to come.
If you are a UK taxpayer, please remember that using a Gift Aid envelope will increase your donation at no extra cost.
Whatever you give, we thank you for your support.
Please note that for some events and exhibitions there may be an entrance fee. This will be noted on the online calendar where relevant.
Wheelchair access is available to the Cathedral itself, including a wheelchair lift to the Treasury Exhibition.
There is a limited amount of disabled parking available in the Abbey grounds, and an accessible toilet in our cafe. Please contact the Verger’s Office 01228 535169 in advance to ask for a parking permit . Disabled parking is also available at the Lanes shopping centre nearby.
